so far it's just the toe, but it's a start!!!!!!! i'm using denise's toe up pattern from the socknitter's page.

ok, so i've abandoned that toe. i just didn't like the way the yarn was balling up. so i switched to this..... two socks on two circs!!!! using a different regia mini ringel yarn. i love this colorway.

moving right along. woo hooo!!!!!

ok, cut to TWO YEARS LATER!!!!!! i got to the heel on the regia stripy numbers and just got all frustrated. couldn't wrap my brain around turning the heel. ended up pulling the needles out to swatch for something else and never went back to them. while in new york this past november '04, i bought my first skeins of koigu kpppm and thought i'd give it another try. promptly became frustrated again and didn't want to waste such beautiful yarn. then i thought i might try making my first pair with slightly bigger yarn so that it might go faster and help me understand the construction of a sock more easily. so i picked up some koigu kersti merino crepe and number 4 needles which felt so huge for socks...........

FINALLY!!! MY FIRST SOCKS!!!!

turning the heel wasn't that bad after all!!!!!

woooooooo hoooooooooo!!!!! i love love love these socks. a bit too thick for wearing with shoes, but definitely my fancy socks for wearing around the house. now back to that koigu kpppm....
